Best Western Hotel
Best Western is a successful chain of hotels that are located worldwide. The Brandon Best Western is a 3-storey building with 79 rooms, located on Middleton Drive in Brandon Manitoba. The Brandon Best Western Hotel is a facility housing amenities usually featured in the Best Western chain including a pool, patio, breakfast area, elevator and fitness center. Samson Engineering Inc. completed all the architectural and engineering components and designed drawings issued for construction.
The scope of work completed by SEI encompassed architectural, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering design services in order to produce certified engineered drawings. Civil aspects by Samson Engineering included the generation of a site plan as well as sewer, water and drainage planning. SEI also designed the roads, curbs and asphalt surfacing for the driveways and parking areas in addition to sidewalks and the concrete entrance pads. Structural components encompassed the design of the foundation and superstructure of the facility: concrete foundation elements, concrete shell for the pool, superstructure of wood-frame elements and the fire separation elements. SEI designed all the mechanical systems: plumbing, hot & cold water supply, sprinkler system, heating, ventilations, and air conditioning. The detailed electrical design included site lighting and power, electrical distribution systems, service entrance, electrical panels, lighting plan, power and receptacles plan, voice and data plan, exit/emergency lighting systems, the fire alarm system, and electrical requirements for HVAC systems. Samson Engineering generated project specifications for the building, prepared for tendering.
The Brandon Best Western Hotel was a project of enormous scope, and SEI was there throughout, completing construction inspections and monitoring the work as it progressed to ensure it was properly completed.
